Our goal at
Scheduling: All repair work is by appointment. After the initial inspection we’ll inform you
what repairs are required along with a more precise estimate. For this reason we ask that you remember we
cannot always fix a bike the day it comes to the shop. Frequent calls to us for ‘updates’ only delay
repairs and add to work associated costs. Please have your bike ½ full of
gasoline when dropping off for service work.
Payment:
Shop
Supplies, Environmental Fees, and Waste Disposal: Most services result in the use of
supplies such as lubricants, cleaners, and very small parts that cannot
individually be itemized. The fee will
vary by what services you are having completed, but average between 3-6% of the
labor billed. Additionally, there are
environmental fees per bike of $2-7.
Lastly, certain items like batteries, tires, coolant, and contaminated
gasoline have their own disposal fees.
You are welcome to dispose of these items yourself, just advise us that
you wish to do so when you schedule your appointment.
Gasoline: We cannot make your cycle run well if it contains poor
quality or contaminated fuel. It will
have to be replaced. This is something
you can do by siphoning out the gas or we can do it and return the gas to you
so that it can be burned in your car. If
we have to dispose of the fuel it is $35 per gallon. When we put gas in your tank it will be
non-ethanol. It costs a bit more at .50
to .75 per gallon over regular priced unleaded.
There is no fuel additive that can undo that damage that ethanol based
fuels will do to your system. We highly
recommend using the non-ethanol fuel for the health of your bike. The closest station that provides non-ethanol
fuel is at 46th and
Cleaning: Bikes need to be clean when we work on them. It is recommended that if you have any sort
of leaks or if the bike has been sitting for a few weeks that you visit a local
do-it-yourself carwash to spray off the bike.
We can also do this for $35 per bike.
The closest car wash is located at 42nd and Hiawatha.
Engine
Oil: Most modern motorcycles use engine oil to lubricate the
clutch and transmission; therefore, it is important to use motorcycle specific
oil that contains the required additives for these components. NEVER USE API RATED CAR OILS unless it is a
dire emergency!
Winter
Storage: End your season right and get your repairs done at
up to a 20% discount on labor when you pay your invoice by February 10th. We provide storage for up to 150 motorcycles
each fall, beginning Nov 1st thru April 1st. When you have service work performed at the
same time you will receive a discount on labor in additional to benefiting for
our Annual Winter Parts Sale.
